White truffles and the Saturday market Besides the better-known black truffle, Alba lies at the heart of the white truffle season in Piedmont. This season runs from September to January. Every Saturday you can wander the proper Italian market in the narrow streets, where you'll find all sorts of local specialities. Book Michelin restaurants well in advance — especially in October and November they are fully booked months ahead.
